Madhupalan's raw honey is not heated, blended, or processed. It is extracted from the honeycomb and bottled directly, preserving its natural enzymes, pollen, and other beneficial compounds. The process of making raw honey is quite simple and natural. The bees collect nectar from flowers and store it in their hives. The nectar is then broken down into simple sugars and stored inside the honeycomb. The design of the honeycomb and constant fanning of the bees’ wings causes evaporation, creating sweet liquid honey. Once the bees have produced enough honey, beekeepers harvest it by collecting the honeycomb frames and scraping off the wax cap that bees make to seal off honey in each cell. Once the caps are removed, the frames are placed in an extractor, a centrifuge that spins the frames, forcing honey out of the comb.
